On our Black Sea and Eastern Turkey guided tour you will be escorted from the seldom explored rainforest of the Black Sea mountains to the great plains of Eastern Turkey, the volcanic wastes of biblical Mount Ararat and to the shores of Lake Van, one of the world's highest lakes. You trek through alpine meadows full of flowers and bathe in the thermal baths at Ayder. You visit the monastery of Sumela, which perches precariously on the face of a vertical cliff, the great hilltop Palace of Ishak Pasa, with its harem big enough to house the Pasha's forty wives and the ruined medieval city of Ani. You explore the ancient Georgian cathedrals of the Artvin area and the delightful wooden mosques of Simsirli, places that have hardly seen a tourist before.
